God of Mischief.
Half brother of Thor, Loki was a giant by birth and adopted by Odin. A shapeshifter and terrible trickster, Loki was responsible for the death of the god Bauldor by leading his blind brother to stab him with a spear of mistletoe wood.
Loki is traditionally related to fire and the tying of nets, both fishing and allegorical.
He is shown here seated with two of his children – Jormungand, the Midgard serpent and Fenrir, the giant wolf of Ragnarok fame.
