The Earth, Mother of us all, provides us with
treasures
right under our noses. Even as we call them "weeds", gifts of food and healing surround us: (clockwise from top) maiden fern, dock, burdock, Jerusalem artichoke, sheep sorrel, chickweed, lambs-quarters, dandelion, plantain, violet, nettle, day lily, and grapevine. All have been our humble but hardy allies for centuries. A thousand years hence, when the squabbles of our era have long been rendered irrelevant in the melting pot of humanity, our strong, wise descendants will still inherit this Earth and her bounty of miracles.
