The Artisans in Calcutta, India

Sacred Source celebrates over 25 years of collaboration with the families of artisans who make our statues in Calcutta, India.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Can you guess the artisans in the picture attached? Today is Holi, the festival of color, celebrated in West Bengal (our state), and tomorrow by the rest of India. You must be thinking why my face is so clean? How have I managed to escape from the attackers who were searching for clean faces to put colors?? I did play with colors but since I knew about the picture idea I went for a bath before it! I wanted to look clean in the picture!
You are seeing few of the artisans here in the picture. Many artisans are missing in the picture as they are celebrating with their family members. They took today off work. These artisans who stay quite far and don't go to home frequently played color with us.
After this, we had a feast and by now you should know what was cooked? Khichidi [a meal of beans and rice] of course! With papadam [a puffy sweet bread] and lots of sweets.
My semester exams are over. It was good. I have two more semesters to clear before I get my degree.
We have started planning for our trip to Denver. But more important thing is to obtain my passport. I hope I don't see the same officer again who denied me last time. [Due to increased travel restrictions, it is more difficult for our India partners to secure visas to visit us in the United States]
For the next few months we are going to work very hard to bring out new color, quality and new prototype ideas so that we can show you them when we are there.
Sending colors and sweets to your family and all our customers.
     Namaste -

Dear Sisters and Brothers,
We have here attached a photo of our daughter Jaya. Here Jaya is sitting beside her friend during her marriage ceremony. Both of them are doing MBA in the same batch. We are very pleased that while Jaya is studying MBA, she is also sharing responsibilities of Jai Bhagavan [our Calcutta sister company]. Rita [Jaya's mother] is running our store and Bacchu [Jaya's father] is a full timer again for Jai Bhagavan. Jaya will do an internship with a very large multinational company for next four months. Soon she hopes to visit Sacred Source in Virginia.
Love to our sister and brother families -
     Rita & Bacchu
