The Divine Lovers.
Radha is purity and wisdom, and Krishna's earthly mentor. Their love represents humanity's longing for Union with the Absolute.
Radha, Krishna 's consort and favorite among the gopis, is portrayed standing contiguous with her flute-playing Beloved in a posture of adoration and inseparability. Yet in Vaishnavite devotional texts, Radha is the incarnation of purity and wisdom and hence Krishna's earthly mentor.
In folk culture she is revered as the Supreme Mother, the redeemer from ignorance. The devout bhakta seeks complete identification with Radha in her achievement of Divine Union.
NEW DESIGN: Krishna's arms embrace Radha, his flute held at her waist. Colors will vary.
